- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.

Tim Newsome completed a BSc(Honours) at the University of Melbourne in Genetics and then a PhD in Developmental Neurobiology at the University of Zurich. Finally, he saw the light and started playing with viruses in London at Cancer Research UK with Michael Way. This is where he became fascinated by vaccinia virus and its impact on the host cytoskeleton. After establishing his group at the University of Sydney in 2007, he continues to work with poxviruses and dabbles with SARS-CoV-2. He was made Associate Professor in 2019.
