Barbara F. Nowak, M.Sc., Ph.D., D.Sc. is a Professor, in the National Centre for Marine Conservation and Resource Sustainability, University of Tasmania, Australia. Barbara has over two decades of experience in research, teaching and outreach, working in the areas of aquatic animal health, in particular farmed fish, including fish health management and disease control. Her research interest resulted in her active involvement in salmon and tuna health research and collaboration with aquaculture industry. She has mentored more than 20 PhD students, and co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications. Barbara is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Fish Diseases and an Associate Editor of Journal of Aquatic Animal Health and Acta Ichtyologia et Piscatoria.
